Announcing the CFFF / Gertrude Agnes Behring Fund for the Fallen
As part of our SUPPORT for the families of Canadian fallen firefighters, the Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of a new fund to assist families with the funeral expenses for a line of duty death. Families may be eligible for funeral expenses or request logistical assistance for the actual funeral service. For more information on the funeral fund or logistical assistance such as pins, pipers, honour guards, flags, CFFF rep. or chaplain to attend etc… please see our Family Support section.
Fire Marshals and Fire Commissioners help to support the families of the fallen
On September 14, 2014 the Council of Canadian Fire Marshals and Fire Commissioners were all in attendance at the Canadian Firefighters Memorial Ceremony in Ottawa. The Council made a significant donation to the Foundation for the creation of an additional $3000 Education Bursary named after the Council to be awarded under the current bursary policy of the Foundation. Applications for this and other Education fund assistance is available on our website under support services at www.cfff.ca
A fallen firefighter memorial has been established on the grounds of the provincial legislature. It is to commemorate all those British Columbia firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Those who have given their lives will be recorded in a memorial book to be kept in the parliament buildings. If you have the opportunity, please visit the site.
